About Art Classes with Andrew Saldaña

My goal is to introduce the student to what I refer to as universal artist tools – a set of fundamentals and principles. I begin with teaching basic line and presenting tools in a Building Block method. I then proceed with teaching the student how they may be applied to any media. Each student will gain knowledge and confidence in using these tools to create a piece of art in their own individual style through lecture, demonstration, and hands-on practice accompanied with individual direction and critique.

Andrew Saldaña has been a practicing artist for over 35 years and has been an art professor for over 20 years. He began his teaching career at Southwestern University as a Visiting Professor and is currently an Art Professor at Austin Community College.

Over time he has honed his skills both as an artist and art instructor. He has developed specific curriculum and methods which make learning to draw or paint easy for anyone and are included in his workbook ”Drawing Made Easy”.

Andrew has taught literary thousands of students not only to draw and paint, but also to grow as an artist in confidence, creativity and learn to celebrate the uniqueness of their art.
